Know Before You Vote is a project that attempts to make local ballot topics, such as candidates and nearby issues, more understandable in order for readers to make an informed vote rather than an educated guess. To achieve this goal, the project takes a county’s ballot and provides the readers with valuable and simplified information that explains what their vote will do and how an issue could personally affect them.
All resources found inside the Know Before You Vote kit are provided to public government institutions, such as libraries, universities, post offices, or the DMV. These sites are available and accessible to everyone, as there are several locations that could appear in any community. While the pamphlets would be available in person, the information would also be updated frequently online for those who are more technologically savvy.
